Taking the Leap

Steven is introduced to his UK manager by Bonnie and they got on really well, really fast. He was subsequently signed and the work started on opening the doors to the USA and UK and soon he would be introduced to his US manager: also through, you guessed it, Bonnie Lee Bouman.

Steven lands the biggest Campaign of his life and became the “Gillette Man” worldwide for 2016. This was followed with his first lead role in a Horror Film next to Hollywood Star Sharni Vinson from the Step up Franchise.

Realising that the time is perfect, he decided to go taste the industry in the USA, bought his ticket and was on his way to a world he thought he knew.

He says "If you think you know the States, you really have no idea just how different it really is."

He is currently in Los Angeles, California auditioning for the leads in Networks such as ABC Family, Warner Brothers and CBS. These are opportunities that South Africans, never get. He is training harder than ever before, taking classes and learning new things which is helping him hone his skills as an Actor.

"I could never have done this without the people I know and without the experiences I have had with and without them. You call them contacts, I call them friends. If there ever was any advice I could give an Actor is would be this: Make friends, not just contacts".

"This is an extremely lonely road and you need friends to push you, more than you need them to hand things to you on a silver platter. It becomes meaningless and distorted without friendship. Acting is about making people feel, so practice what you preach.

I am ready to take on Cape Town Season in December and then be back again by LA Pilot Season next year to take things to the next level".

We leave this blog update with Steven's profound words;

“Some people are born as artists. Some learn to become one. But me: I was created as an art. I am unique. I am perfectly imperfect. I’m an Actor. What’s your excuse?”
